A.Yes, your progress is monitored regularly. If the academy observes a lack of improvement in your singing due to insufficient practice or other reasons, the management reserves the right to expel you from the academy. Whether to continue providing lessons or to cease them will be at the sole discretion of the management.
A.Not necessarily. We prefer students to learn the basics with the help of a tanpura from the beginning which can be downloaded on their phone/tablet/laptop from YouTube. However, having an instrument like a small Synthesizer (Casio)/Harmonium can be beneficial for practicing at home. It allows you to cross-check whether you are singing the right notes or not, especially when the teacher is not present.
A.Absolutely! Our courses are meticulously designed to provide comprehensive training to aspiring singers. We focus on imparting correct knowledge of ragas, sur (notes), and taal (rhythm) in a manner that facilitates a deep understanding of both light and classical singing. This not only enhances your singing quality but also instills confidence in your performance. Whether you aim to pursue exams through institutions like Gandharva, Bhakhande, Prayag, or any other platform, our training equips you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in your musical journey. However, students will need to bring the course pattern of that particular institute from where they are willing to take exams.

A.Submitting a 1-minute practice audio clip from your previous lesson is a valuable step in monitoring your progress. It allows your instructor to assess your understanding, identify areas for improvement, and tailor the upcoming lesson to your specific needs. This proactive approach enhances the effectiveness of your learning experience and ensures each lesson is personalized to help you reach your goals more efficiently.
A.The adjustment of classes in online solo courses will be determined by the management and dependent on slot availability. Students are encouraged to inform the management well in advance if they are unable to attend due to an emergency. Classes may be adjusted depending on the availability of slot in the same month only preferably in the same week as we advice our students to take minimum one class per week to avoid long gaps in their classes and to maintain the continuity in their learning process, but if the slot is not available then class adjustment will not be possible
A.The adjustment of classes in online group courses will be determined by the management and dependent on slot availability. Students are encouraged to inform the management in advance if they are unable to attend due to an emergency. Classes may be adjusted until students' scales and pitch are assessed, and groups with similar characteristics are formed, provided that advanced notice is given. Once a group is established, missed classes will not be adjusted.
A.In a group class, there will be a maximum of four to five students. Initially, individual solo classes of 30 minutes will be provided until a group of students with similar talent and scale is formed. Once the group is established, the class duration will be extended to 45 minutes, regardless of the number of students, up to a maximum of five.
A.The primary difference between a group online course and a solo online course at Aart Sense Academy lies in the cost and the individual attention you receive. Here's a detailed comparison to help you decide:
Group Online Course:
Cost: Rs.4720/- per month inclusive of all taxes.
Duration:4 classes per month, each lasting 30 - 45 minutes if the group is formed.
Student Count: Around five students per class which can go up to upto maximum 5 number of students.
Individual Attention: With 5 students, the effective time each student gets is about 9 minutes per class. Over 4 classes, this totals to 36 minutes of individual attention per month.
Solo Online Course:
Cost: Starting at Rs.3540/- per month inclusive of all taxes.
Duration:2 classes per month, each lasting 30 minutes.
Individual Attention: Since the class is one-on-one, you receive the full 30 minutes of the instructor's attention each time. Over 2 classes, this totals to 60 minutes of individual attention per month.
Why Solo Courses are Better for Beginners and for all Students:
Cost-Effective: The solo course provides more individual attention for a lower cost compared to the group course.
Time Efficiency: You get more focused learning time, which is crucial for beginners.
Personalized Learning: One-on-one instruction allows the teacher to tailor the lessons to your specific needs and pace.
Upgrading Options:
If you start with the solo course and find that you want to invest more time and money into your learning, you can always switch to a course with more classes. For instance, you can upgrade to an online course with four classes a month, each lasting 30 minutes, costing Rs 7080/- per month inclusive of all taxes.
This flexibility allows you to adjust your learning plan according to your progress and availability.
Conclusion:
For beginners, starting with a solo course of at least two 30-minute classes per month is generally a better choice than a group class in terms of cost-effectiveness and the amount of personalized attention received. As you progress and can invest more time and money, you have the option to upgrade to more frequent classes.
Feel free to contact us for further guidance or to discuss which option suits your needs best!
A.Yes, you can definitely join our online Hindustani Classical classes from anywhere in the world. Since you stay abroad and can speak and understand Hindi but cannot read or write it, we make it easy for you and provide all notations for practice in Hinglish (Hindi written in English letters).
For example, instead of Hindi script, you will receive notations like: SA RE GA MA PA DH NE SA This way, you can follow the lessons smoothly and continue your learning without any difficulty.
A: The choice depends on your personal learning goals, time commitment, and budget. If you are confident and comfortable with the fee structure, we recommend starting with our 4-classes-per-month course, where each session is 30 minutes once a week. This is a balanced and effective pace for most learners. As you progress, you can always upgrade to a plan with more classes per month if you wish to learn faster or require additional practice.
